Iron Stars - Corvette boarding

The corvette disabled during the space battle is damaged and has been crippled in space. The airlock is damaged but some sort of boarding seal is being attempted. Onboard the enemy vessel cult marines prepare to defend themselves at all cost until engineering can get the drive system working again.

Parsnips grabs a void carbine, two magazines, and the dueling knife he took from the Crimson Claw captain (small advanced?) from the ship’s locker. Before assembling his boarding crew, he radioed over to Eggix. “You ready for this, buddy?”

"Down like a clown comrade brown" Eggix replies (Assuming my armoury contains some weapons here) As he's talking he's grabbing a void carbine, two magazines and a stun baton. Back on the radio to Parsnips again "Let's rock and or roll"

(Small advanced yes, and Eggix there would be a void carbine for you with ammo, and the baton) (edited)

"Ok then, let's get boarding parties ready and down to the tubes. Once the seals are stable, we can breach. Remember there's bound to be some pretty angry cultists right on the other side of that airlock, so be ready for the fight to start right away."

The tubes begin to hiss and vent before the pressure signal shows both ships now have the same atmospheric pressure. The airlock is secured and all reports ready to breach.

"Ok, here goes." Parsnips loads a magazine into his carbine, makes sure the knife is securely clipped to his belt, and moves toward the bright glowing green light of the breaching mechanism. Checking over his shoulder to make sure his team is ready, he quickly pounds the button with his fist and raises the rifle toward the opening airlock.

Eggix is visibly excited. "oh boy oh boy oh boy". He loads his carbine and clenches the stun baton between his teeth. He gives a nod to Parsnips, ready to lay down his life for the greater good.

The airlock door opens and you move into room 12. It is empty and the bulkhead doors to 11 are down. They’re thick and locked tight to seal this section off from the rest of the ship.

(Is there anything on this side of the door that operates the door? Keypad?)

There is an access pad on this side of the door. Some of it has been damaged by the battle , and the electronic system was mostly fried by the charged particle caster hit that disabled it

Eggix walks up to Parsnips "Are you ale to gain access to that key-ad and o-en the door?" he says with the baton still in his mouth

Parsnips shrugs. “Looks pretty beat up to me. I could give it a try, I guess.”

"Worth a shot, I don't see what other options we have" Eggix says, scanning the surroundings (Do I see anything else around us?)

While Eggix checks for other ways in, Parsnips walks over to the access panel, examining it to see if it still works.

Only half of it works. It would take a skilled programmer to get it working again. (Program/int. There is nothing else here. It’s a security airlock)

Worried that a bad attempt could lock them out, Parsnips radios in to the Comms department back on the Motherland. "We need someone with programming ability to come down to the airlock for a second. I promise the shooting won't start until you're gone."

A programmer arrives and nervously works at the pad. It takes ten minutes before he nods that he has a solution. Two wires being crossed will open the doors.

"Everyone, get ready. Behind cover, guns up. Anything on the other side of that bulkhead is probably trying to kill you." Parsnips looks back over to the programmer. "Ok, whenever you're ready. Cross those wires and get the fuck out."

As the team readies themselves, Parsnips takes his place as well, pulling the visor down on his helmet and steadying his aim.

The wires are connected, and the doors raise (initiative)

Eggix readies with the unit, teeth clenched on the baton and gun aimed at the doors as they raise.

(Eggix, parsnips, marine unit) A four strong unit of Ascension cult marines holds the other side of the airlock 10m away from your position, trying to block you from getting further into the ship

Eggix takes aim at the first marine he sees and fires his rifle.

One of the marines staggers as the low velocity round punches into his armored chest plate. He seems to be keeping his feet (Parsnips) (edited)

Parsnips sites in another target from the cultist forces and fires (roll20 is being weird. I rolled but can’t see what I got)

The second shot hits the same marine and he laughs as fate as kept him safe from the low grain rounds twice now.

The return fire sparks off power armor and the deck plates. One shot finds a soft spot before they take a reflexive step back against the bulkhead

Eggix manoeuvres himself and takes aim again, firing at the same target. 4

The shot misses , and the enemy marine remains standing. (Parsnips)

Parsnips also squeezes off a shot, but his aim is wobbly (8/5, dice not on our side today)

(19/4 eggix , missing snips ) the marines return fire trying to keep you back from the airlock leading into the ship. Their void carbines kick over and over again in their hands

Aim still off from the frustration of misfiring so many times, Parsnips raises and fires again (13/12)

There is a flash of light from above the marines as a gas vent kicks off, sparked by the discharge of their rifles. The explosion buckles the door and knocks the cult marines out. Unmoored from the deck they begin to float away

Parsnips shrugs. “Huh. Well, that was lucky. Let’s grab those guys and tie them down before they wake up.”

You're able to restrain them, though one floats off into space before he can be grabbed. You can see they're knocked out and a second of the victims here has a serious suit puncture

Parsnips checks for suit patches, or anything that could make do for a bit. This soldier is now a CBSS prisoner, and has become our responsibility.

You['re able to apply the patch. His suit's air system will fill up the now sealed suit once again and medics will see to them. The way forward is clear.

Parsnips motions forward. "Only one way to go from here."

Eggix seems chuffed "Just as I planned" he mentions softly. He follows closely behind Parsnips. (edited)

The common area of the ship is not defended but is home to six crewmen taking cover now that they’ve been locked out of the bridge. They have the appearance of being underfed and slavish almost. Their uniforms are torn, little more that rags and most show signs of having been beaten

Parsnips’ finger comes out of the trigger guard as he lowers the barrel to the floor. “We don’t want to hurt you. Come out, and we’ll get you medical attention and food.”

They begin to creep toward. Death at your guns is better than being voided or starving under the will of the cult.

Parsnips directs one of the boarding marines to escort the crewmen to the Mothership’s medbay. “Before you go, maybe you could tell us how many more are on this ship, and where we’d find them?”

“I think seven left. They’re on the bridge. Everyone else is dead”

You can hear the ship creaking around you from the damage it sustained before it was disabled

“Any tips for getting in?”

“The bridge doors were damaged. The keypad will take any four digit code but I don’t think they know it’s been reset “

“Thanks! You have been a huge help. Let me be the first to welcome you to the CBSS. Follow my man here to our medbay. I must warn you, our protein bars are a little dry, but they still do the trick when you’re hungry.”

Eggix begins wandering around the large room after listening to what the crewman said about the keypads and walks up to a door of a room (room 2) and enters a 4-digit code. "One, three, three, seven".

The light changes from red to green and you can decide when to open it.

Eggix clutches his weapon, steps to the side and opens the door.

Inside six marines protect the wounded bridge crew from the advance of CBSS troopers into the ship

From cover, Parsnips calls out “listen! We’ve got medical supplies, food, whatever you need. It doesn’t have to go down like this. You could all come quietly, we’ll take care of your wounded. At least give them a chance here.”

The captain steps forward. He does not have a sword or any official rank of office, other than his hat, which he places into your hand. One of his eyes is ruined and blood drenches the side of his face. You can see most of the survivors here fare little better, and he is just hoping that he can save whoever is left.

Parsnips turns to the boarding team. "Ok, let's get these people to medbay, as fast as possible. We've got two ships to split them between, we should have the room."
